Autotask has implemented a user interface (UI) that features a “role-based, human-centric design” into its professional services automation (PSA) platform. The company first announced plans for the new UI at its Autotask Live user conference in June 2014.

Additionally, the East Greenbush, New York-based PSA platform provider said its new release includes 12 persona-based dashboard templates and a library of more than 180 widgets that are pre-configured for various user roles and use cases.

What else should managed service providers (MSPs) expect from Autotask’s revamped UI? Other UI features include:

  • Fully configurable, drill-down dashboards

  • Sortable Work List that is viewable from anywhere in Autotask and dockable in a browser

  • Streamlined navigation designed to reduce clicks

Autotask initially deployed the new UI to customers as part of a limited beta release last November, and so far more than 8,018 new dashboards have been created, 13,469 dashboards shared and over 26,421 widgets produced in its first six weeks of availability.

“We could not be more pleased with our customers’ positive response to the new user interface,” Patrick Burns, Autotask’s vice president of product management, said in a prepared statement. “We worked in partnership with [customers] to design a world-class user interface that would meet the needs of their businesses today and in the future. We are committed to enhancing their overall customer experience and this is the first of many things the company intends to do to ensure our customers continue to grow and succeed.”

Mark Cattini, Autotask’s CEO, told MSPmentor in September 2014 that he believed the new UI could be “a huge differentiator” for his company.

The new UI is now generally available, and Autotask noted that additional UI enhancements and translations will be released in the coming months, too.
