Australia: Will Consulting Firm Give Tigerpaw Software a Lift?

Tigerpaw Software is the latest North American software company to zero in on Australia’s managed services market. The PSA (professional services automation) software developer is partnering up with an Australian consulting firm to help speed Tigerpaw deployments among VARs and MSPs working down under. Here are the details.

No doubt, most of the major PSA and RMM (remote monitoring and management) software providers have made the leap beyond North America into Europe and Australia. So Tigerpaw could face intense competition in new markets.

That’s where Customer Centric Services (CCS) — an Australian CRM consulting firm — enters the picture. CCS plans to launch Tigerpaw Quick Start, which is “designed to help the average Tigerpaw user get a head start in deploying marketing, setting up a sales department, implementing service delivery and billing faster.”

As part of the Australia and New Zealand effort, Tigerpaw “comes with a full set of pre-populated best practices including ten marketing templates, workflow definitions, quoting templates, proposal samples, service order templates, purchase order templates and invoice documents, customized to the customers branding, logo and specification,” according to a joint press release.

Tigerpaw seems to be evolving in 2010. The company plans to host its first partner conference in October 2010. And James Foxall — the public face of Tigerpaw — was promoted to the president post in April 2010.

Competitive Market

Even as Foxall strives to raise Tigerpaw’s visibility the company faces entrenched and emerging rivals. Examples include:

  • Autotask acquired VARStreet to help VARs and MSPs automate services and product opportunities.

  • ConnectWise launched ConnectWise Capital, which has invested in LabTech (a remote monitoring and management software provider) and CharTec (a hardware as a service specialist). ConnectWise CEO Arnie Bellini is also starting to evangelize “the modern office,” and apparently plans to offer VARs and MSPs a range of solutions to build such offices.

  • NetSuite promotes OpenAir, a SaaS PSA platform, to technology and business consultants.

  • European PSA upstarts like Severa increasingly target the North American market.

All that said, Tigerpaw seems to be taking steps to raise its own visibility.
