ConnectWise Capital Companies Integrate With Autotask

LabTech Software and Quosal have each announced new integrations with Autotask. The Autotask integrations are particularly interesting because LabTech and Quosal have each received ConnectWise Capital investments. Here's the update.

Let's start with LabTech, which develops remote monitoring and management (RMM) software. LabTech released a new plug-in for Autotask on May 25. The main capabilities – according to a  LabTech Software press release -- include:

  • Data entry and sync features
  • Ability to map LabTech computer/network device data for LabTech partners who have created user-defined fields
  • Ability to simultaneously sync and select multiple company types, as needed
  • Ability to enter ticket time in Autotask when logged into LabTech, provided user log-in IDs are the same for LabTech and Autotask
Meanwhile, Quosal -- a sales quoting tool for VARs and MSPs -- recently launched the Order Porter iPad application, which integrates with ConnectWise,, Microsoft CRM, and Autotask.

The LabTech and Quosal moves reinforce a careful balancing at at ConnectWise. On the one hand, it's clear that ConnectWise is connecting the dots between its PSA system and investments like LabTech, Quosal and CharTec. But on the other hand, each of the ConnectWise Capital companies continues to plug into third-party systems -- such as Aututask.

Meanwhile, Autotask CEO Mark Cattini made it clear earlier this week that he wants Autotask to be the most open, most widely supported SaaS platform in the managed services market. Moreover, Autotask is accelerating its plans to push beyond Internet Explorer to support Firefox, Google Chrome and Apple Safari on the front-end. Certain Autotask modules will offer the cross-browser capabilities by August 2011, Cattini estimates.
