Services VP To Leave Ingram Micro

By Doug Allen

And theres more management shake-ups at leading distributor Ingram Micro: In the wake of the recent departure of president and chief operating officer Alain Monie, Justin Crotty, vice president, services, North America, is also leaving Ingram Micro as of July 2. Crotty is headed for Ingram Micro Seismic partner NetEnrich, an IT services company based in California with a strong channel strategy that, not surprisingly, also hosts the distributors Seismic Global Network Operations. As senior vice president and general manager, Crotty will report directly to the companys CEO.

In the meantime, Ingram Micro is conducting an internal and external search to fill Crottys position, seeking a North America executive to take on the leadership and execution of the distributors burgeoning Services Division, a ramp-up often credited to Crottys hard work over the last four years when he took over the post; the division has expanded from a team of three to 30, with veteran executives in place, and has grown from an original base of 1,600 channel partners to roughly 2,000 today. Crotty joined Ingram Micro in July 2001, having previously held engineering, sales and management posts in high tech and communications after beginning his career with IBM as a network systems engineer.

Filling the leadership vacuum until a suitable replacement is named, Jason Beal and Chris Parks, both Services Division directors in sales and operations, respectively, will take on additional responsibilities, reporting to Brian Wiser, senior vice president of sales and marketing, North America.

The Services Division is broken out into five separate groups, including IMSN/Labor Services (an IT service-delivery branch providing pre- and post-sale professional and consultative services across more than 800 North American markets); Seismic (delivering MSPs with hosting and a variety of SaaS and IT solutions); IT Staffing, and more recently Cloud Services and the Ingram Micro Training Academy.

The company is adamant that its strategy and plans for growth for its Services Division will not change, pointing to two fantastic partner events the Cloud Summit & Seismic Partner conference and the recent announcement of a Cloud Conduit program and advisory council, in addition to a new partnership with Rackspace Hosting to boost its cloud services cred. Its business as usual with everyone putting in 110 percent to ensure our partners success, the company said in a statement.
