Cisco Systems has appointed Scott Brown, vice president for worldwide sales enablement, as its new newest vice president of worldwide distribution, according to a report published by CRN.

Brown, who has been at Cisco for 15 years, succeeds Dave OCallaghan, who was moved to the role of vice president, worldwide commercial sales, where he is tasked with growing Ciscos SMB and commercial business.

In his new position, Brown will manage Ciscos relationship with its existing distributor partners such as Tech Data and Ingram Micro, especially in the wake of new routes to market including cloud computing and SaaS models.

Browns appointment is the latest in a series of changes to Ciscos channel executive team. Since July, Wendy Bahr, who was senior vice president, U.S. and Canada channels, has shifted to a new role as senior vice president, global and transformational partnerships running Ciscos most strategic worldwide accounts; while former Cisco China CEO and Chairman Jim Sherriff moved into Bahrs previous position. In addition, Edison Peres, senior vice president, worldwide channel organization, has taken on an expanded role within Cisco, according to the article.
