McAfee sales leader Britt Norwood is adding channel to his list of duties as the company merges with FireEye.

The cybersecurity provider promoted Norwood from vice president of sales to senior vice president of sales and global channels and commercial. The appointment comes a month after Kathleen Curry left her position as senior vice president of global enterprise channels, OEM and strategic alliances. She now works as head of worldwide strategic alliances at AWS.

In the meantime, McAfee is working to build channel synergies with FireEye. Mandiant recently divested FireEye to the private equity firm that owns McAfee. Norwood will work in tandem with Chris Carter, who is vice president of channels for the Americas. Carter works specifically with VAR and distribution partners.

Goals

Norwood said he will focus on the integration of the two companies.

“It’s well understood that our success as a combined company can’t happen without partner success. Our focus heading into 2022 is integrating our portfolio across McAfee Enterprise and FireEye and scaling with our partners,” Norwood told Channel Futures.

Norwood also said he aims to “get closer to the customer.”

“We are going to do this by growing the opportunities we provide to partners, streamlining the life cycle management process for our joint customers and making our go-to-market with partners simpler,” he said.

In addition, Norwood said partners see opportunities in services.

“There is a lot of opportunity in services — the need for services will never go away. A strong service practice that meets the needs of the market is a very valuable commodity in this space that our partners should be watching and developing their capabilities in if it makes sense for their business.”

Moreover, the combined company is enlisting more MSPs and MSSPs to utilize its software.

“We’re building our services program to be simple, easy to onboard and become profitable — across managed, professional and consulting,” he said.

Background

Norwood has worked at McAfee since 2020. He previously was area vice president for Salesforce. He also worked at Cisco for 18 years, ending his tenure as leader of state, local, and education sales in the western U.S.
