Windstream Enterprise has launched new data loss prevention (DLP) services powered by Cato Networks.

Windstream Enterprise secure access service edge (SASE) will get loss prevention for more than 350 data types covering globally sensitive information. That includes credit card numbers as well as county-specific information such as postal codes covering more than 30 countries.

Clients can set up DLP rules via the WE Connect portal to block, alert or allow actions. The customized dashboards provide visibility with data and insights to identify trends and mitigate threats.

Mike Frane is vice president of product management for Windstream Enterprise. He said the new Windstream DLP services will give channel partners an additional converged service in its SASE portfolio. They can discuss it with their prospects and customers.

This will create new opportunities for them, he said. That’s because many enterprises are initially leveraging distinct elements in the SASE/security service edge (SSE) framework. They’re doing so to augment or supplement their existing security matrix as they evolve to a full SASE/SSE implementation.

Here’s our most recent list of new products and services that agents, VARs, MSPs and other partners offer.

Accelerating Cloud Adoption Increasing Focus on Sensitive Data

The acceleration of cloud adoption has highlighted the need for enterprises to understand where their sensitive data is located and how it is being moved around, Frane said.

“DLP has been a component of the enterprise security matrix for some time,” he said. “And now our clients have access to this latest security enhancement as part of our all-encompassing SASE solution with industry-leading technology from Cato Networks, and unrivaled service and support from Windstream Enterprise.”

DLP protects an enterprise’s critical information, customer data and intellectual property, Frane said. It also supports regulatory compliance for credit card and medical patient data.

Windstream Enterprises’ managed service offering wrapped around the Cato Networks‘ DLP capability, paired with Windstream’s underlay and voice capabilities, will provide partners with a competitive advantage, Frane said.
