Application delivery provider Prosimo has updated its platform to create a more autonomous multicloud experience.

Prosimo announced enhanced features to its AXI platform. The Santa Clara-base vendor made five specific changes:

  • A “Fastlane” feature that rapidly deploys edge points of presence (PoPs) and creates optimization techniques for applications.

  • An “Autonomous Transit” feature that mitigates app-to-app network performance issues on the fly.

  • A “Dynamic Compliance” feature that uses dynamic, behavioral risk profiles and knowledge of geographical compliance requirements to automatically mandate user measures.

  • Improved connectivity for cloud-native services like AWS S3 and Google Big Query.

In addition, Prosimo has made the AXI platform available on AWS Marketplace and Azure Marketplace.

Here’s our most recent list of new products and services that agents, VARs, MSPs and other partners offer.

Prosimo co-founder and CEO Ramesh Prabagaran said the AXI platform initially focused on creating a single unified infrastructure stack for networking, performance, security, observability and cost management.

“The latest release takes this strategy much further to include Fastlane and Autonomous decision-making, all driven by high-quality data. This enables our customers to accelerate their path toward fully achieving autonomous multicloud networking,” Prabagaran said.

Prosimo this summer shared a study about the benefits and challenges for enterprises that adopt multicloud transit. On one hand, a multicloud route can give customers improved network transit latency. On the other hand, multicloud presents complexity for application performance.

“You’re talking about thousands of large-scale virtual private clouds. It is becoming a real here-and-now problem for enterprises,” Prosimo head of products Mani Ganesan told Channel Futures. “VARs can take advantage of this by providing an outcome-driven approach for cloud migration.”

Prosimo partners with VARs, telcos and cloud hyperscalers.

Background

Prosimo emerged from stealth mode earlier this year. Prabagaran, who also co-founded SD-WAN provider Viptela, launched the company to provide a “per-application” SLAs approach to cloud networking.

“With modern application environments distributed across data centers, multiple clouds and edge locations, managing connectivity is increasingly complex and difficult. Organizations need intelligent, automated solutions to regain control,” ESG senior analyst Bob Laliberte said. “Prosimo’s latest enhancements enable organizations to effectively manage distributed cloud connections and accelerate the time to trust for adopting fully automated solutions, which drives greater operational efficiencies and optimized experiences.”

Brad Casemore, IDC’s research vice president of datacenter and multicloud networks, said companies embracing multicloud strategies are seeing the limitations of their network infrastructure and network operations.

“IDC foresees strong enterprise demand for simple, consistent, reliable and elastically scalable multicloud networking during the next several years, both from modern NetOps teams and from cloud architects,” Casemore said.
