Oracle Debuts Data Management, Analytics Services at OpenWorld
ORACLE OPENWORLD — Oracle made several product announcements at this week’s OpenWorld event in San Francisco, with the top four involving new data management and analytics solutions.
Oracle is introducing Exa Your Power Program to help customers migrate Oracle Database from IBM Power Systems to Oracle Engineered Systems using Intel technology. The program, jointly funded by Oracle and Intel, is a free database proof of concept (POC) for qualified customers. Oracle will assess the customer’s environment, deliver a customized database migration-results report and show the customer how they may be able to reduce the time and cost required to run critical database workloads.
Three enhancements have been added to the Oracle Marketing Cloud. Oracle says the trio — Offline Data Append, Match Multiplier and Business Unit for Content Marketing — will help users deliver tailored content and experiences to targeted customers by, respectively, adding offline purchase data to customer profiles, improving customers’ engagement across different devices and boosting collaboration across content marketing initiatives. New integration capabilities with Oracle Service Cloud have also been added that will make it possible to integrate data on customer-service experiences into the marketing profile mix.
Oracle Data Visualization Cloud Service, the latest addition to Oracle’s analytic offerings in the cloud, has guided navigation, drag and drop, and other self-service features intended to make it possible for users at all levels of an organization to quickly create visual analytics. Oracle states that automatic data blending lets users combine data from a variety of sources into graphic layouts that can be enhanced with narratives. The service works across mobile, tablet and desktop devices.
The new Oracle Cloud Platform for Big Data consists of four services that Oracle says will complement its Big Data Cloud Service and Big Data SQL Service in helping customers maximize the value of their data and accelerate time-to-insight:
- Oracle Big Data Preparation Cloud Service uses machine-based learning and semantic technologies to prepare, repair and enrich business data without manual intervention.
- Oracle GoldenGate Cloud Service enables high-volume and low-latency data movement into big data lake and data warehouse services in the cloud.
- Oracle Big Data Discovery Cloud Service, built natively on Hadoop, can transform raw data into business insights without the user having to deploy complex architectures, learn specialist tools or rely on expert resources.
- Oracle NoSQL Database Cloud Service, a scale-out, low latency key-value database service, is designed to handle high volumes of data with minimal administration.
