Motorola Solutions Takes Wraps Off Symbol TC70

The mobile device is built for business such as retailers, wholesalers and manufacturers. In fact, the TC70 can be used with gloves and wet fingers.

Motorola Solutions Inc. today took the wraps off its Symbol TC70 touch computer, a mobile device for enterprises.

Symbol TC70 runs on the Android KitKat operating system. Motorola said it combines the usability of a smartphone with the durability businesses such as retailers, wholesalers and manufacturers require. The TC70 also comes with more than 50 certified applications, including price and inventory checks, line busting, assisted selling, and workforce and inventory management.

The physical features include a 4.7-inch Corning Gorilla Glass 2 high-resolution display that can be used with wet fingers, gloves or a stylus. Accessories include holsters, a magnetic stripe reader and trigger handles.

The TC70 is VoIP-ready and has push-to-talk capabilities via Wi-fi. It also is equipped with security, data capture (for integrating barcode scanning, processing payments, and capturing signatures and images) and wireless software features.
