The distributor on Wednesday announced the Fiber Locator, a mapping tool that identifies nearby fiber. Intelisys agents, VARs, MSPs and service providers can enter an address and view adjacent locations “up to one mile.”

“We’ve streamlined the process of identifying fiber opportunities with this valuable new tool,” said Raymond Nelson, Intelisys’ director of solutions engineering. “By investigating the availability of fiber services, sales partners can quickly determine which carriers are able to service customers in the area without expensive construction or build-out fees.”

The tool allows partners to immediately ask the nearby fiber supplier for a quote. Nelson tells Channel Partners that the new tool will help differentiate and equip partners.

“Intelisys has long focused on the education and enablement of our sales partners,” he said. “Our back-office support is arguably the best in the industry, and has been built to support those same efforts. While concierge-level service will always be available, we recognize that there are times certain business partners want to do it on their own, and the Fiber Locator tool was built for just that purpose. Intelisys has always had some of the best tools and portals in the industry. The Fiber Locator adds one more to our arsenal, with a compelling self-service component.”

Intelisys partners can access the tool today. You can find more details on the Fiber Locator on Intelisys’ website.

Intelisys announced Tuesday that it brought on a new solutions engineer to support its partners in the Northeast.
