Xirrus, a provider of cloud-enabled Wi-Fi networks, has enhanced its MSP partner program with the goal of making Wi-Fi-as-a-service delivery easier and attainable for more partners.

Xirrus' Bruce MillerThe enhanced program features CommandCenter, which aims to simplify and speed up the activation and provisioning process for new customer installations to maximize revenue, and reduce deployment cost and overhead. MSPs can create customer accounts without the need to stage customer networks prior to provisioning.

Bruce Miller, Xirrus’ vice president of product marketing, tells Channel Partners that his company has seen a “significant uptick in interest from our existing partners, prospect partners and the industry in general around offering managed services for Wi-Fi.”

“The adoption of cloud-hosted services, a BYOD-centric client base and an increasingly distributed workforce are example drivers for organizations to outsource their IT services, in particular small [and] medium businesses,” he said. “Cost reduction is, of course, a fundamental element as well. For the MSPs, the recurring revenue stream is very attractive to their businesses.  So in line with these developments, we enhanced the benefits MSPs receive from our program to better suit their needs toward enabling managed Wi-Fi services to be a key part of their offering.”

MarketsandMarkets forecasts the managed-services market will grow from $107 billion in 2014 to $193 billion by 2019.{ad}

Among the Xirrus MSP services and benefits are: creating and managing an unlimited number of customer accounts and locations; adding new customer accounts and activating instantly; dragging and dropping assignment of equipment to and from customer accounts; and built-in support and feedback tools for fast problem resolution.

“Xirrus has hundreds of partners worldwide that provide managed services in some form or other,” Miller said. “We have seen managed Wi-Fi play a more important role in many of their businesses, in addition to application, security, storage or other services they might offer. More partners is one of the goals and we see the enhanced program attracting a greater number of partners and enabling greater profitability.”

Xirrus drives all of its business through the channel to achieve scale in the many geographies in which it operates globally, he said.

“More than ever, businesses rely on MSPs to support their mobility needs with [Wi-Fi as a service],” said Jillian Mansolf, Xirrus’ chief marketing officer and vice president of channel sales. “CommandCenter is the only solution designed specifically for the unique needs of MSPs – to deliver next generation Wi-Fi services with unprecedented speed, security and flexibility.”
