Veracode partners now have access to an enhanced partner program with three partner tiers.

The goal of the Veracode Velocity Partner Program is to help partners grow their security practices quickly around Veracode’s cloud-native Continuous Software Security Platform. The program offers opportunities to accelerate deal closure, expand market share and grow revenue.

Veracode is a global provider of application security testing solutions.

The program’s integrated features include new demand-generation campaigns aligned to key security initiatives. Partners also get on-demand sales and technical enablement tools, and a new role-based partner training and certification program.

3 Partner Program Tenets

Pete Harteveld is Veracode‘s chief revenue officer. He said the enhanced program aligns with the company’s broader channel strategy.

In addition, he said the program is centered around the following three tenets: alignment, enablement and engagement.

“The need for speed has driven software development teams to adopt agile methodologies and process automation tools, as well as cloud-native technologies, open-source software and microservices,” Harteveld said. “While these trends have increased the speed of software development, they have also introduced new complexities and risk. The need to meet increasingly prescriptive regulations, such as those outlined in the U.S. executive order on cybersecurity and the new U.K. cybersecurity strategy, has also put more pressure on businesses, driving the need for a formalized partner program that ensures partners are properly equipped to address these requirements. With our role-based approach to enabling partner teams for success, everyone has access to program resources and tools to expand their foundational core competencies.”

Three Partner Tiers

The new tiers are based on partners’ ability to satisfy key requirements:

  • Level 1 — Sprint Partners: All Veracode partners begin at this level. They have access to tools, including marketing campaigns and on-demand programs, training and certifications. They also have automatic subscriptions to all partner communications, and online resources via the partner community.

  • Level 2 — Momentum Partners: Pending previous performance and engagement with Veracode, select partners can leverage custom, plan-based marketing for program investments aligned to ROI goals. Additionally, they have prioritized access to enablement programs and initiatives to drive key performance metrics.

  • Level 3 — Turbo Partners: This tier is by invitation only for strategic go-to-market (GTM) partners that align with key initiatives. These partners participate in joint GTM planning with quarterly business reviews and exclusive programs. That includes early access to Veracode products, programs, resources and content.

Partner feedback is vital for the success of Veracode‘s model and helped shape the program, Harteveld said.

“We are in constant dialogue with our partners to solicit input and feedback,” he said. “This ongoing engagement has enabled us to enhance the program by understanding how partners feel about its structure and benefits, as well as the features they are most excited about.”

Competitive Advantage

Veracode designed the program to give partners a competitive advantage, Harteveld said. It does so by giving them the tools and structure to successfully work with Veracode to solve their customers’ most complex and demanding software security needs.

“We have seen the success of our enhanced channel strategy, introduced last year, in growing the partner business through a targeted and collaborative GTM methodology,” he said. “This evolution of our program seeks to accelerate that success. The [program] aligns with this tried-and-tested strategy to expand and accelerate partners’ security businesses profitably.”

Joshua Dubik is senior practice leader at Optiv.

“Optiv’s partnership with Veracode enables us to further develop our trusted ability to advise, deploy and operate AppSec programs,” he said. “Utilizing Veracode’s integrated features, such as training and certification, new demand-generation offerings, and tools and products via the broader marketplace, helps us deliver better results for our clients.”
