Tech Data To Offer VMware vCloud to VARs

IT distributor Tech Data Corp. announced that it will offer VMware vCloud Hybrid Service to its channel of solution providers.
Generally available this month, VMware vCloud Hybrid Service is VMware’s public infrastructure as a service (IaaS) offer that enables VMware customers to extend the same skills, tools, networking and security models across both on-premises and off-premises environments.
“VMware vCloud Hybrid Service is a great value-add to our solution providers because of its cross functionally between data center technologies and hybrid virtualization,” said Chuck Bartlett, vice president, Advanced Infrastructure Solutions (AIS) at Tech Data.
With thousands of applications and more than 90 operating systems certified to run on VMware vSphere, resellers can provide their end customers with the infrastructure to run applications in the cloud. vCloud Hybrid Service offers a seamless extension of the data center, while fully isolating software-defined networks and firewalls, securing transition to the virtual cloud.
Barrett said Tech Data’s dedicated VMware team offers technical support and consultation for integration of vCloud Hybrid Service into customers’ current systems. Plus it offers partners enablement tools, Webinars and education.
