Distributor Tech Data (TECD) has rehired a former executive to handle its core product marketing and elevated Chuck Bartlett to senior vice president of its Advanced Infrastructure Solutions (AIS) unit, overseeing the company’s value-added solutions lineup.

Brian Davis returns to Tech Data after three years at solution provider Insight, where he served as Product Marketing senior vice president. He will lead the operations and strategic direction of Tech Data’s client systems, peripherals, software, cloud services and TDAgency, its in-house vendor and reseller marketing services agency. During Davis' prior 10-year tenure at Tech Data he served as Client Systems Product Marketing vice president and Sales, Consumer Technology and Supply Chain Services vice president, among other roles.

Bartlett, a seven-year company veteran who was upped after three years as AIS vice president and general manager, will oversee Tech Data’s server, storage, networking, unified communications, video, virtualization and converged infrastructure products. He commands some 20 years of experience in IT sales, marketing and distribution.

Davis and Bartlett will report directly to Joe Quaglia, Tech Data Americas president. Quaglia said the changes make the Americas organization structurally similar to how Tech Data operates in Europe.

"I am pleased to welcome Brian back to Tech Data to lead our core business, while I am confident that Chuck will continue to drive growth in his new role leading our value-added solutions businesses," said Quaglia. "Brian and Chuck have proven expertise in the channel and have earned the respect and confidence of both our vendor partners and reseller customers.

“We are excited to have them in place to lead the execution of our strategies across our core and value businesses," he added. "This new structure also more closely aligns our organization in the Americas with the structure of Tech Data Europe, providing consistency for our partners throughout our worldwide operations."
