TD Synnex Rolls Out Cybersecurity Ecosystems Initiative

This new community will draw on all of the capabilities of the TD Synnex security practice.

TD Synnex on Monday unveiled a new cybersecurity ecosystems initiative. It will encourage channel businesses with differing expertise and capabilities to form new alliances and take new value propositions to market.

This new community will draw on all the security-as-a-service, support and educational capabilities of the TD Synnex cybersecurity practice. This includes Security Practice Builder, which enables partners to develop their own capability and establish their own cybersecurity services business.

In addition, partners can access TD Synnex’s Recon security suite services portfolio of managed and subscription-based services. These include identity and access management (IAM), security consulting, SOCaaS, and backup and recovery.

Initiative to Provide Valuable Forum for Partners

“There is a multiplicity of reseller businesses – solutions integrators, service providers and specialists in all the different areas of digital security,” she said. “But few, if any, have all the knowledge and skills they need to offer a complete cybersecurity offering to their end user customers. In addition to that, cybersecurity skills can only be acquired at a huge premium right now. These are significant challenges for partners and one very good way of addressing that is through partnering. The cybersecurity ecosystems community will provide a valuable forum through which partners can explore new possibilities, and the different pathways and options that we provide for them to develop their security and data protection business.”

TD Synnex has several ecosystems programs already operating in the United Kingdom. Those focus on manufacturing, health care, retail and distribution. This concept is now being extended to cybersecurity.

The TD Synnex team identified a clear need for reseller businesses involved in digital security and protection to find suitable partners that they can work with. That’s to extend the value they offer to customers as well as their own business potential.

Working Together for Better Security

Neil Cornish is ecosystems business manager at TD Synnex.

“The starting point was the recognition that security operations centers (SOCs) are seeing increasing demand across a growing attack surface, with tens of thousands of alerts every day,” he said. “In our IBM business unit, for example, we have seen IBM investing, like many of the other vendors, into new security offerings such as Randori and ReaQta, adding to existing products such as QRadar and MAS360. So, it has become apparent that an increasingly complex array of solutions is required to provide the assured protection that customers need. On top of that, the speed of change in cybersecurity threats is challenging vendors, business partners and customers alike.”

There was a growing recognition among the partners TD Synnex works with in the United Kingdom, both through its industry ecosystems and its cybersecurity practice, that no partner alone can keep track of all these developments, adapt to fast-moving changes, and offer the comprehensive range of security solutions and services that customers need, Cornish said.

“It made sense to bring those two ideas together and create a cybersecurity ecosystem, through which partners can share ideas, find out more about their individual areas of specialism, and forge alliances that will enable them to deliver all the services their customers require, in addition to gaining knowledge of and access to the specialist support and services available from TD Synnex,” he said.
