Open-source software provider Red Hat is launching a subscription model at no cost to partners. This aims to give them greater access to the Red Hat open hybrid cloud portfolio.

The new model simplifies the path for partners to acquire the company’s product subscriptions, the company said. They help develop software solutions and proof-of-concepts, test product offerings, deepen technical skills and more.

“The transformative capabilities of open hybrid cloud, and ultimately, our customers’ business outcomes can only be unlocked through a collaborative and knowledgeable partner ecosystem,” Chiras said. “Red Hat is committed to catalyzing open-source innovation with partners by enabling deeper access to leading Red Hat technologies and support resources.”

The new subscriptions will give partners more visibility into the Red Hat open hybrid cloud portfolio than ever before, she said.

“This will fuel real business outcomes and success with customers,” Chiras added.

Key Benefits of the Red Hat Subscription

What do partners gain with the Red Hat partner subscriptions? The company said they will have access to hundreds of self-support subscriptions for the Red Hat open hybrid cloud portfolio. Partners can mix and match product subscriptions for use for on premises or in any public cloud. Partners will also get complimentary Red Hat standard support for up to five contacts, with the option of upgrading to premium support for more.

The company said Red Hat partner subscriptions equip partners with subscriptions typically worth thousands of dollars to develop. Replacing traditional not-for-resale subscriptions, Red Hat partner subscriptions offer partners more comprehensive access to Red Hat’s platforms. This includes Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform. Partners also get offerings for a broader range of business and technical use cases.
