Nitel Joins CarrierQuoteShop.com

CarrierQuoteShop.com, a free multicarrier quoting portal for independent telecom agents, has added Nitel Inc. to the list of service providers it supports. Under the arrangement, Nitel agents will have access to real-time pricing for data T1, bonded T1, data DS3 and Ethernet via the Web-based tool.

Nitel is a virtual network operator offering MPLS, Ethernet, private line and Internet services from more than 100 network services providers. The company offers customers flat-rate pricing and access to tools to accelerate procurement, installation and maintenance.

CarrierQuoteShop was released by master agency Telarus Inc. at the Spring 2010 Channel Partners Conference & Expo with six carrier partners. It now supports nine, including AireSpring, Cavalier, MegaPath, Nitel, One Communications, TelePacific, Telnes Broadband, Windstream and XO Communications.

Based on GeoQuote, the patented real-time quoting software developed Telarus, the new portal gives agents access to all low-end broadband and voice pricing for products that include data T1, bonded T1, data DS3, integrated voice and data, PRI, local voice, and Metro Ethernet products (under 10mbps).

Access to CarrierQuoteShop is open to agents who are directly contracted with Nitel or indirectly contracted with Nitel through any master agent

An independent agent signs up for a free account at www.CarrierQuoteShop.com. The agent then applies for permission to run quotes with each carrier in their portfolio. The request is sent to the carrier, who has the ability to “accept” or “reject” each request. After approval is granted, that carrier’s quote feed is instantly added to the agent’s CarrierQuoteShop price quote tool.

“CarrierQuoteShop.com will be instrumental in facilitating the delivery of price quotes to our valued agents as well as raising Nitel’s profile in the channel community,” commented Rick Stern, CEO of Nitel. “This partnership, in addition to our new iPhone app, is another tangible expression of our ongoing commitment to providing competitively priced nationwide connectivity services to the channel. We realize that the more our pricing shows up in CarrierQuoteShop.com quote results, the more circuits we will sell through our agents. Likewise, CarrierQuoteShop.com will allow our agent support team to focus on higher level ‘hands on’ sales opportunities by relieving them of the need to quote lower-end products to their agents. We see this benefitting our company, our employees, and our partners.”

Earlier this month, Nitel announced its indirect sales agents using Apples iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch have access to an instant quoting application through the App Store.
