Workflow automation software vendor Nintex announced several major revisions to its global channel partner program, including differentiated partner tiers and specific recognition for various partner types.

“We’ve had, essentially, a basic partner program which has done quite a sufficient job of supporting the partners to date, but we’ve now grown to a certain size … where we have to add a certain level of sophistication into our programs and into the partner investments that we make,” said Josh Waldo, vice president of Partner Strategy and Programs at Nintex, in an interview with The VAR Guy.

The revised program will also include other standard partner program features such as training and certification, marketing assets and a redesigned partner portal. Waldo said the changes were a necessary maturation of the existing program to match the level of commitment shown by resellers.

“I think when you get to a certain size and build enough critical mass in the channel and you have certain partners that are performing and investing with you at very differentiated levels … you have to build tiers into your program accordingly to support those partners for the investments they are making,” he said.

Beginning immediately, Nintex will group resellers into three separate categories: Solution Partners, Technology Partners and Training Providers, according to the announcement. Previously the program was oriented more toward VARs, who made up a majority of Nintex’s partner ecosystem, but the new structure seeks to recognize other types of partners as well, said Waldo.

Each partner then be will added to one of three tiers based on their level of commitment, from registered partners to certified and premier-level partners. Like other tiered programs, registered partners will receive basic benefits, with premier-level partners eligible for the highest level of discounts and marketing funds.

The new partner portal will include CRM integration for resellers, including forecasting and pipeline information, as well as customer renewal data and alerting, deal registration opportunities and more. Partners also will have access to 24/7 self-service training modules via the Nintex Learning Center. Marketing and product centers within the partner portal will include marketing assets and information surrounding Nintex solutions, respectively.

Nintex also announced its Forms Enterprise solution and Mobile Enterprise solutions, which are expected to be available for download July 22. Nintex Mobile Enterprise will allow users to custom brand up to five native mobile applications via a web interface, while Forms Enterprise will allow users to bring external database connectivity to forms and mobile apps. Users will be able to make their own forms through a drag and drop design interface in Microsoft Sharepoint, according to the announcement.
