OpenStack provider Mirantis announced the launch of its new vendor partner program this week, as the company looks to help solution providers expand their OpenStack ecosystems.

Mirantis Unlocked combines the company’s existing partnerships with companies including Citrix, Juniper Networks, VMware, Brocade and EMC with technology solutions from SolidFire, Cumulus Networks and others, according to the announcement. The goal of the program is to help familiarize partners with OpenStack so they can combine different technologies into an easy-to-use solution for their customers, said Mirantis CMO and co-founder Boris Renski.

“The vision of Mirantis Unlocked is to take best-of-breed infrastructure technologies through a rigorous certification process, giving customers an out-of-the box experience with OpenStack without limiting their infrastructure choices,” said Renski, in a statement.

Mirantis Unlocked partners will have access to go-to-market support as well as pre-validation and certification with Mirantis OpenStack, according to the announcement. Providers also will have the ability to develop, certify and document their own plug-in for the Fuel OpenStack installer as well as integrate with OpenStack through the Murano application catalog.

The company plans to launch several turnkey OpenStack appliances with partners later this year to help simplify the complexity of building clouds at scale. No further information was provided on the appliances, including possible release dates.

In February, Mirantis took on its first Japanese partner in the form of a Tokyo-based subsidiary called Mirantis Japan GK, which distributes the company’s OpenStack distribution and additional cloud computing services and products in Japan. The company also announced a partnership with ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation to include Mirantis’ platforms in its offerings.
