Microsoft Lync iPad Damaka Xavy App

How can partners profit from Microsoft Lync and Apple iPads? Perhaps Damaka‘s Xavy app can help. The app extends Microsoft Lync collaboration, video and presence capabilities out to Apple iOS (iPhone, iPad) and Google Android tablets and smart phones. Plus, Damaka is now a Microsoft Partner Network member. Here’s why partners should care.

Lync has been Microsoft’s fastest-growing business server application. Tablets are everywhere. Savvy partners should connect the dots between those to rends.

Opportunity Ahead?

That’s where the Xavy client for iPad enters the picture. The company claims it “delivers a full unified communications experience encompassing Presence, IM, Audio, Video, Whiteboard, PowerPoint Sharing, Application Sharing, Desktop Sharing, Scheduled Meetings including Conferencing, Participant Management and Federation.”

Sounds powerful. But The VAR Guy hasn’t actually tested the app … so your mileage and experience may vary. Want to learn  more? Xavy is available in the Apple App Store and the Android market.

Also of note: Damaka develops solutions for service providers and systems integrators — The VAR Guy’s core readership (applause, applause). In those two areas check out:

  •  Damaka’s Unified Communication and Collaboration Services (UCCS) offering, called Amadeo, is designed for operators and service providers.

  •  Damaka also provides a SIP-based software solution that can help systems integrators with end-to-end network access deployment, the company claims.

Of course the Xavy app sounds sexier than the UCCS and SIP solutions. But perhaps that’s the point: Maybe Xavy can open customer discussions, with UCCS and SIP solutions rounding out your sales pitch.
