McAfee Channel Chief Meeting 40 Partners In New York

After gaining expanded mid-market responsibilities at McAfee today, Channel Chief Alex Thurber is set to meet with roughly 40 North American channel partners in New York on May 26. Here’s why.

As you may recall, Thurber launched a revamped McAfee partner program earlier this month. The effort is designed to give partners a consistent partner experience for McAfee’s on premises and SaaS software.

Fast forward to this week, and Thurber is in New York for two reasons. First, he’s observing a McAfee investor conference in Manhattan. And tonight, he’s set to dine with partners before spending all of May 26 with those partners. “It’s all about maintaining a two-way dialog,” says Thurber.

Earlier today, McAfee announced a company reorganization that will give Thurber added responsibilities for the company’s mid-market customers. Thurber essentially remains channel chief while also taking on mid-market responsibilities from Darrell Rodenbaugh, a senior VP who is retiring from McAfee, Thurber says.

And what about that partner meeting on May 26? The VAR Guy will be listening closely for more chatter.
