Lacework has unveiled major partner program updates, including a new MSP program, to get better results for customers.

The program helps partners focus on customers’ specific security needs. Organizations can find the best security solution for their environment with the Lacework Polygraph data platform. Customers get faster time to protection and insights, and ongoing support for their cloud security solution.

Brian Lanigan is Lacework‘s vice president of worldwide channels and alliances.

Here’s our most recent list of important channel-program changes you should know.

“We’ve put a lot of time and effort into developing our partner program over the past year since I joined Lacework,” he said. “It was important to us to talk to our customers and partners, and deeply understand what they need from a program to be successful. This program is an output of those discussions.”

Lacework Partner Program Works with MSPs the Right Way

One of the biggest mistakes people make with MSPs is treating them like resellers, Lanigan said.

“While these companies often sell in the channel with other partners, what they’re really doing is building services for customers to create great outcomes,” he said. “And we wanted our program to make it easy for them to build services on top of the Lacework Polygraph Data Platform, and better align and support their business models.”

Lacework’s focus when designing this program was on helping customers produce great security outcomes, Lanigan said. It spent a lot of time with the MSP and MSSP community to understand their offerings and needs.

New Features, Capabilities

New partner program features and capabilities include:

  • Capture the Flag, a hands-on game and enablement tool. It exposes teams to how the Lacework cloud-native application protection platform (CNAPP) is used to solve complex cloud security problems.

  • Cloud service assessments (CSA) to uncover and report on risks within an organization’s cloud posture. The CSA is available to customers in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Marketplace.

  • New certifications for partners to deliver post-sales services to customers.

What MSPs Can Deliver

The new MSP program is for partners who want to deliver security as part of a full stack of services. It allows organizations without a full security team to bring Lacework to their environment, without having to worry about building their own team.

This program formalizes Lacework‘s relationships and support for MSPs and MSSPs, Lanigan said.

“It also doesn’t add cumbersome overhead, or force companies to adapt their business models to support our goals,” he said. “We intentionally crafted our program agreement to be inclusive so all partners can opt in to the areas of the program which best fit their business motions — and kept the goal of making our collective customers as successful as possible in mind at every turn.”
