Hewlett-Packard (HPQ) has updated its ServiceOne program with new offerings designed to bridge the on-premise and cloud worlds for solution providers servicing both customers. HP ServiceOne 2.0 program provides partners with new automation capabilities for customers while expanding their lifecycle sales and overall margin growth potential according to the company.

ServiceOne 2.0 adds several new features to fit HP’s “New Style of IT” philosophy, including HP Flexible Capacity and HP Datacenter Care, the company noted. Both are aimed at capitalizing on current and future market dynamics and increasing available recurring revenue streams.

HP Flexible Capacity offers customers with on-premise private cloud infrastructure with a monthly public-cloud type subscription that only charges users for the services they utilize each month. Similar to the way a home heating bill or monthly electricity bill charges users only for the services being used, Flexible Capacity is being touted as a way for customers to pay for what they need while having backup resources at the ready.

Also included in ServiceOne 2.0 is HP Datacenter Care, the company’s enterprise-level support package. Datacenter Care offers 24x7x365 protection for customer solutions, noted David Twohy, vice president of Global Channel Services at HP.

“HP ServiceOne has provided partners the richest, most inclusive portfolio and services program in the industry, and ServiceOne 2.0 builds on that foundation to create significant opportunities for partners,” he said in a statement. “ServiceOne 2.0 not only helps partners earn more in incremental margin dollars, it also expands relationships with customers and positions them as a trusted advisor.”

Additionally, partners will have access to additional automated tools to reduce quoting time and lower sales costs, according to the company. HP also introduced new delivery options for its Proactive Care services and Datacenter care to give partners a leg-up on building more profitable business models. HP is not discontinuing ServiceOne with the release of version 2.0, but new certifications may be required for partners making the jump to the latest version.

Additional program elements will be released over the next 12 months, although HP has not announced specific details on what will be added to the program.
