HashiCorp Rolls Out New Professional Services Program

HashiCorp worked with a small number of strategic SIs to build out a virtual bench of consultants to support these professional services packages.

HashiCorp, the cloud infrastructure automation provider, has a new professional-services program designed to help large enterprises successfully implement the company’s multicloud automation products.

The new program will be supported by consultants dedicated to providing professional services for these organizations. They specialize in large, advanced deployments of HashiCorp Terraform Enterprise for multicloud provisioning and Vault Enterprise for multicloud security, with forthcoming support for HashiCorp Consul Enterprise and Nomad Enterprise.

Ash Nangia, HashiCorp’s vice president of customer success, tells Channel Partners the program provides a standard framework for his company’s partners to follow as they engage with their mutual customers.

“We’re calling these frameworks FastTracks and we believe they will lead to deeper provisioning, security and networking use case adoptions,” he said. “Enterprise customers can feel confident that the teams delivering these services have been trained by HashiCorp directly. Partners get both the education from us and a new way to further engage with these larger customers.”

The initial HashiCorp professional services provide enterprise customers with FastTrack implementation packages for private installations of Terraform Enterprise and Vault Enterprise. For Terraform Enterprise, services include installation of servers, creation of workspaces, authentication setup and version-control system integration. For Vault Enterprise, services include cluster creation for development and production; replication assistance; authentication and secrets engine setup; and tool integration.

“The main benefit is that customers that have had difficulty getting a deployment off the ground have an effective path forward,” Nangia said. “For the partners, the opportunity is to engage with members of the Global 2000 in a very defined way and be very prescriptive about how they can help with customer deployments. Let’s say a customer is interested in purchasing Vault Enterprise, but is concerned about setting up their replication clusters correctly and the possible downtime that may result due to that misconfiguration. A partner now can provide the organizations with peace of mind that they have a HashiCorp-verified methodology to accomplish that task.”

HashiCorp worked with a small number of strategic SIs to build out the virtual bench of consultants to support these professional services packages. These firms provided select individuals who have undergone technical training with HashiCorp to ensure they will be prepared for enterprise-grade projects.

“We want to enable our channel partners to deliver on the asks of enterprise customers,” Nangia said. “The frameworks developed through this program will help them achieve that.”
