Gigamon, SharkRack Team on Enterprise Data Center Management

Physical infrastructure provider SharkRack and data access networking provider Gigamon have announced a partnership in which SharkRack will incorporate Gigamon’s GigaVUE intelligent enterprise management platform in its data center equipment, offering a centralized monitoring and analyzing solution that the companies claim will provide visibility to any data.

The pairing provides each company with a complementary product or service, creating a complete data center solution for network building and management. That means the partners of both channel-friendly companies can more easily create data center solutions that will (hopefully) be free of integration and compatibility issues, saving both time and money.

The solution provides access to data anywhere in the data center and eliminates the need for configuration and change order management, according to the companies. They also tout the ‘green’ benefits of such a solution through minimizing rack space and consequently saving power, since companies can centralize their network monitoring and security tools.

Both Gigamon and SharkRack are deeply involved in the channel, even though they may not be household names. SharkRack is well-known among the data center crowd, and Gigamon is known for its dependable network monitoring switches. The pairing of the GigaVUE platform with the SharkRack environment could be a time-saver and headache-reducer for solution providers.
