Dot Hill, Condre Storage Ink North American Distro Deal
In an effort to expand its channel presence, storage company Dot Hill has teamed up with Condre Storage, an IT distributor with a focus on enterprise data storage solutions. What does this mean for Dot Hill partners? Read on for the quick distribution details …
Condre Storage will be distributing Dot Hill AssureSAN and AssuredUVS solutions to Condre resellers across North America. Condre Storage, which distributes technology around hard drive, tape, RAID, SAN and other methods of backup, now has another weapon against the inevitable demise of spinning platters. The partnership potentially has the markings of a ‘win-win’ scenario for both companies: Dot Hill is hoping the deal will push AssuredSAN and AssureUVS (Unified Virtual Storage Appliance) deeper into high-demand vertical markets and media industries, while Condre believes Dot Hill’s solutions are a compelling product line that resellers have been waiting for.
Dot Hill has been looking to grow its base of resellers by appealing to the entry and mid-level markets with simplicity in its product line, software and hardware. The AssuredSAN and AssuredUVS both look to consolidate organization’s multivendor storage solutions down into one virtualized, more flexible solution that eliminates inefficiencies. Dot Hill’s approach also looks to help resellers to build margin-boosting service solutions around these deployments.
We covered Dot Hill’s launch of AssuredUVS back in November 2010, along with its Apple-friendly SAN solutions, so this latest distribution deal suggests Dot Hill is gaining popularity. Since Dot Hill is clearly in growth mode, we’ll be sure to keep our eyes open to where in the channel Dot Hill may pop up next.
