Welcome back to the roundup! This week we’ve got hot news from our friends at X20 Media, Independence IT and Extreme Networks (EXTR). Grab a seat and let’s get started!

X20 Media: Real-time visual communications solution provider X20 Media recently named Darin Crosby as its new vice president of sales. Crosby will be responsible for managing the company’s sales efforts and collaborating with X20 Media’s worldwide network of channel partners and customers, according to the company.

"We are proud to welcome Darin to our executive team," said David Wilkins, President of X2O Media, in a statement. "His deep industry and sales experience combined with his strategic vision will be key as we continue to grow our presence as a visual communications solutions provider. We are confident that Darin will bring a wealth of perspectives and insights to help us develop and grow our business."

Crosby has more than 20 years of experience as a senior sales representative in the IT field, and most recently served as the director of Sales, U.S. West for Evertz Microsystems. He has also held leadership positions in companies including Miranda Asia and Miranda USA and Matrox Electronic Video Products Group.

Independence IT: Software provider Independence IT has snagged former VMware (VMW) exec Jason Peoples for the role of executive vice president of sales and general manager. Peoples, who previously served as the strategic alliances manager for AirWatch by VMware, will be responsible for defining the company’s long-term growth strategies and leading the organization in achieving sales and revenue objectives, according to the press release.

“Jason’s relevant experience and deep background in sales, partnerships, marketing and corporate development throughout his career make him an excellent fit as we focus on quickly expanding our footprint worldwide,” said Seth Bostock, CEO, IndependenceIT. “With the market maturing at a rapid pace, he will be invaluable and complement our mission as a technology leader in simplified IT management solutions for application and DaaS delivery.”

Extreme Networks: Extreme Networks recently announce its wired and wireless software defined networking solution has completed qualification with Microsoft Lync, which will allow the company to deploy Lync for automated Quality of Service (QoS) and comprehensive analytics across wired and wireless infrastructures.

The addition of Lync support to Extreme Networks’ SDN platform is expected to give channel partners and end users the ability to enhance their unified communications capabilities and simplify complex tasks such as delivering QoS to Lync endpoints, according to the company. As a member of the Microsoft Unified Communications Open Interoperability Program, Extreme Networks will also be able to offer a network solution for converged services to support aspects of unified communications including VoIP desk phones, softphones, instant messaging and video collaboration.

“Every day, organizations are improving collaboration and increasing productivity by leveraging Unified Communications,” said Pascal Menezes, Principal Program Manager, Microsoft Lync. “Through integrating analytics, wireless and QoS, Extreme Networks is helping customers obtain high quality user experiences and deep insights into how users, applications and devices are being leveraged.”
