WiC: Women in the Channel President Nancy Ridge was recently honored with a Silver Stevie Award for Executive of the Year during the 2015 American Business Awards ceremony in Chicago. Ridge was nominated for Executive of the Year in the Non Profit or Government Organizations division.

Ridge won this year’s award for her continued work to promote female channel leaders in technology through Women in the Channel, which she co-founded in 2010, according to the announcement.

“It is my hope that the Stevie Award will bring the focus and intention of our group to a broader audience,” said Ridge, in a statement. “Our mission is to elevate each other as women in telecom and technology through collaboration, support, mentoring and outreach.”

Vade Retro: Cisco Systems (CSCO) has chosen graymail management and email security provider Vade Retro’s filtering technology to manage the networking company’s email gateway and reduce unwanted marketing email.

Vade Retro’s graymail filter will be included in Cisco’s Enterprise Security Appliance 9.5 release, which will allow users to automatically classify low-priority emails and help weed out unwanted subscriptions, according to the company.

“We are proud to have reached Cisco’s expectations, which were very high, to enhance their existing great product. They have been able to see the added value from our technology as well as the great agility of our team during the testing period,” said Adrien Gendre, vice president of Product Management at Vade Retro.

Kimble Applications: Professional services automation provider Kimble Applications has appointed former Salesforce executive Shane Anastasi as one of the company’s new vice presidents in the United States.

Anastasi, who formerly served as vice president of Global Operations for Salesforce, will use his SaaS and IT professional services experience to foster relationships between Kimble and Salesforce, according to the announcement. He will also work to develop the company’s strategy and growth in North America. Kimble is powered by the Salesforce platform.

“I am thrilled to be joining Kimble at this transformative period,” said Shane. “Kimble has designed a genuinely integrated PSA product that not only centers on operations, sales and delivery solutions but also accommodates other functionality of PSA and financial reporting systems. Because Kimble is Salesforce-native and fully integrated with the Salesforce platform, it provides added value for many of our customers.”
