AT&T Partner Exchange has added new mobility tools and a training certification for the Internet of Things (IoT).

Solution providers working with the telecommunications giant through the partner program can access an expanded mobile API portfolio. AT&T says the partners can now more rapidly address the needs of their mobility customers.

“Account management, reporting and billing make up 85 percent of solution providers’ daily activities on the AT&T platform,” said Sue Galvanek, vice president, marketing, pricing and product solutions, AT&T Partner Exchange. “Our API platform is helping solution providers enhance their automation capabilities. They’re likely to see greater speed, visibility, accuracy and control with these essential processes.”

The APIs allow partners to pause or restart service, manage billing, reporting and inventory information, and manage customer plans.

Partner Exchange also launched a certification track for “IoT growth opportunities.” The track contains training about what it takes to deliver IoT solutions. Galvanek says the certification goes on top of resources that are already on AT&T’s IoT website.

“IoT adoption is on the rise and sparking a wave of innovation for customers. We’re focused on helping solution providers harness its potential by equipping them with the tools they need to be successful,” Galvanek said. “The new IoT training is the natural next step.”

Rob Chamberlin, vice president of DataXoom, a member of Partner Exchange, says the new APIs and IoT training open up new business opportunities for his company.

“Technology innovation is happening quickly, and resellers need the skills to move at the same pace,” Chamberlin said. “AT&T Partner Exchange IoT training has helped us learn how to build, manage and operate in the IoT marketplace. This means limitless business opportunities for DataXoom.”

AT&T Partner Exchange last year added Control Center, an IoT platform, to its mobility platform. It rolled out mobility APIs and certifications in March.
