AppDynamics is enticing current and prospective channel partners with three new efforts targeting both government and enterprise organizations.

The company currently has more than 150 partners across the Americas, EMEA, and Asia/Pacific/Japan, including IT service and other providers, VARs, MSPs and technology partners. Matthew Polly, AppDynamics’ vice president of worldwide alliances and business development, tells Channel Partners the number has been increasing, “but we are growing more and more selective with whom we choose to establish a partnership.”

“Proper investment, governance, inspection and goals make for good partnerships,” he said. “It is important to us that there be mutual investment in our alliances, so we are applying more scrutiny to the willingness and ability of both parties to invest in ensuring the relationship is successful before we establish the partnership.”

AppDynamics this week announced the expanded reach of its Application Intelligence Platform into the U.S. government market through Promark Technology Inc., a U.S.-focused, value-added distributor and wholly owned subsidiary of Ingram Micro Inc. The platform enables software-defined businesses to monitor, manage and analyze complex application environments at scale.

Authorized channel partners can now use the Promark General Services Administration schedule to sell AppDynamics’ services to U.S. federal, state and local government agencies. The alliance provides a formalized distribution channel for AppDynamics to reach government agencies at all levels.

In addition, AppDynamics has expanded its partner program with new channel partnerships and an expanded team to support the U.S. federal government and Canadian markets. The new offerings are intended to help ensure the continued growth and success of the company’s global partner ecosystem.

“This effort means that AppDynamics is investing in its partner program,” Polly said. “While the news is focused on our investment in the U.S. federal and Canadian markets, we also are investing across industries and geographies.”

AppDynamics expanded its North American channel team in fiscal 2015 as part of its planned growth strategy.

And finally, the company has been recognized by Docker as an Ecosystem Technology Partner for monitoring. The program is designed to highlight vendor offerings with demonstrated Docket integration.

“Our business users are looking to make the application-integration process more flexible, agile and portable,” said Scott Johnston, Docker’s senior vice president of product. “AppDynamics further empowers our users to optimize continuous application delivery with an advanced visualization tool to manage the end-to-end processes inside Docker containers.”
