More Money Flows Into Autotask
It will be at least another year or two before some MSP platform providers attempt to launch initial public offerings, The VAR Guy predicts. But private investors continue to show strong faith in the MSP model. One prime example: Autotask has quietly received another round of funding, our resident blogger hears.
The VAR Guy doesn’t know how much money Autotask has added to its bank account. But it’s clear that the firm intends to invest the funds in additional R&D and promotional efforts. Company insiders estimate that there are at least 100,000 potential customers for Autotask to pursue — though there is an opportunity to significantly grow that target market.
How? Glad you asked. What if Autotask’s revenue opportunities pushed beyond VAR organizations, and down into end-user organizations? Autotask CEO Bob Godgart hinted about this “co-managed IT” concept during CompTIA’s Breakaway event in August. It’s a safe bet he’ll continue to reinforce that messaging in the months ahead.
