Meru Networks Appoints Citrix SVP to Board
Citrix's senior vice president and general manager of the company's Enterprise and Service Provider division has joined Meru Networks' board of directors.
Citrix‘s senior vice president and general manager of the company’s Enterprise and Service Provider division has joined Meru Networks‘ board of directors.
Sudhakar Ramakrishna is still relatively new to Citrix, having only joined the company earlier this year, but the senior manager has more than 20 years of experience in the mobility, networking, security and collaboration sectors. In joining Citrix, he became responsible for the company’s strategy and execution around its virtualization, networking, mobility and cloud products and services.
“His strong expertise in cloud-based delivery and development of intelligent networks will serve Meru and its shareholders well. The board will benefit greatly from his input and guidance as we continue to strengthen the business,” said Chuck Kissner, a Meru board member and chairman of the nominating and corporate governance committee.
Said Ramakrishna, “The enterprise wireless industry is extremely dynamic and rapidly expanding, with a lot of room for innovation. With Meru’s strong and diverse board, and its executive management commitment, the company is poised for success.”
What does Ramakrishna really bring to the Meru Networks’ board of directors? Prior to Citrix, he was president of products and services at Polycom. Prior to that, he held a number of positions at other technology leaders, including being the corporate vice president and general manager of Motorola‘s wireless broadband business, as well as holding leadership roles at several networking businesses including Stoke Networks, 3Com and US Robotics.
The combination of networking and cloud experience makes him a potentially valuable asset to Meru, which has built out a portfolio of mobile access and virtualized Wi-Fi technologies.
