Masergy’s Global UCaaS Unifies Voice, Messaging, Video for Users

Masergy Communications, Inc., is bringing a new unified communications (UC) solution to the enterprise IT crowd with Masergy Communicator, which allows users to access voice, video, instant messaging, presence and web collaboration from all of their devices. The new UC solution is designed to let users access their entire business network from all of their platforms, including Windows, Mac OS, iOS and Android.

“Companies face many challenges when deploying UC services including the need to manage multiple applications, service providers, contact lists and operating systems,” said Tim Naramore, Masergy’s Chief Technology Officer in a prepared statement. “Masergy helps overcome these challenges by delivering truly unified communications from the cloud. Masergy UCaaS customers now have a single application for all their collaboration and communications needs regardless of if they are in the office, on the road, or working from home.”

Similar to other UC products such as Microsoft Lync, Masergy’s UC acts a hybrid Skype/Instant Messenger/Internet Phone mash-up to give users the ability to easily switch between instant messaging and voice, video or conference calls. All versions of the platform also allow for screen sharing, and users can sync their devices for unified identity across all the available services. Masergy UC automatically syncs all call logs, buddy lists and service settings across all devices via the cloud, so users don’t have to worry about entering  contacts and info into each device separately.

Masergy says its communicator was designed as a modular solution to give users the ability to instantly adjust the system to meet their individual business demands. The Masergy Communicator is available now, and current Masergy Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) subscribers can download a free version of the new tech from the company’s website or via the iOS and Android app stores.
