iYogi, CA Team on Remote Demos

Managed services provider and remote support specialist iYogi is pushing the on-demand model into a pre-sales role. The company, which provides computer support for consumers and small businesses, said it will host virtual demos for resellers hoping to sell CA’s Internet Security software to prospects. The company launched a CA Sales Competency Center to offer the remote pre-sales service to resellers.

To assist CA channel partners, iYogi said will provide customer demos in five languages: German, French, Spanish, Italian and English.  “Additionally, we provide trial installations and setup services that are customized for businesses,” an iYogi spokesman said.

While iYogi hosts the virtual demos, the trial installs are deployed at a customer-determined site. The spokesman said iYogi's services are available to thousands of partners reselling CA's Internet Security products.

Once the sale is made, iYogi offers to remotely install CA security software on customer computers and servers. The spokesman noted that iYogi has the capability for remote management and monitoring, but does not offer those services to CA channel partners at this point.

Overall, CA’s Internet Security Business Unit has been pursuing remote installation with its B2B product line. The iYogi arrangement fits this pattern, albeit at the lower end of CA’s security plans.
