Potential good news for government VARs: F5 Networks, Inc says their BIG-IP Global Traffic Manager (GTM) complies with DNSSEC 2009 (domain name system security extensions) compliance requirements. Not sure what all that technical jargon means? Here’s the scoop.
F5 says BIG-IP GTM protects customers’ DNS infrastructures against attacks, and apparently reduces management costs. Since DNSEEC standards can be tricky, F5 says they’ve taken care of that for you.
Key DNSSEC features for BIG-IP GTM enable organizations to:
Meet compliance mandates for DNSSEC by the 2009 federal
Sign DNS responses in real time and provide the means to deploy DNSSEC quickly and easily in an existing environment
Determine accurately where a user is based on their IP address
Provide the capability to sign the DNS responses to protect against rogue DNS servers
Ensure that end-users receive correct web responses
BIG-IP supports DNSSEC as an add-on feature to GTM while simltatneously running as a global server load balancer providing “high availability, maximum performance, and centralized management for applications running across multiple and globally dispersed data centers.”
