Dell Signing Up 300 Partners Per Week
The VAR Guy just got off the phone with Dell Channel Chief Greg Davis. Our resident blogger and Dell’s top partner executive discussed the company’s partner program, which launched in December 2007. So, how are things going so far? Here are some quick clues.
Dell’s partner portal has received more than 1 million hits since launching in February, and the company is signing up roughly 300 partners per week. Partners have used a Salesforce.com-based application to present Dell with more than $250 million in new sales opportunities, and so far Dell has approved roughly 82 percent of those opportunities.
Those are promising — but small — steps, considering Dell is a $61 billion (annual revenue) company. Davis highlighted several additional milestones and key learnings from Dell’s channel efforts so far. But The VAR Guy has to run for a flight. He’ll return later tonight with a full recap of the conversation.
