AccelOps Partner Program Targets Mid-Market Data Centers
AccelOps is looking to raise its profile in the IT channel. The company, which develops data center monitoring software, has launched a partner program for systems integrators, VARs and service providers. The VAR Guy suspects this is the first of multiple partner moves AccelOps is planning. Here's why.
First, a little background: Founded in 2007, AccelOps is privately held and focuses on data center monitoring and IT service management software. Generally speaking, it sounds like AccelOps intends to compete most directly against Nimsoft in the mid-market RMM space. AccelOps also hopes to position itself as a mid-market alternative to complex Big 4 solutions from BMC, CA, IBM Tivoli and Hewlett-Packard OpenView. Companies like Nimsoft and GroundWork Open Source are pursuing similar Big 4 alternative strategies.
Partner Program
Where do channel partners fit in? On the one hand, MSPs and VARs can leverage AccelOps to remotely manage customer data centers. But on the other hand, those partners can also resell AccelOps' software into end-customer data centers. That's where the new AccelOps partner program enters the picture.
According to a press release issued today, partners will be able to refer, resell, train and customize solutions for AccelOps’ virtual appliance and SaaS offerings. AccelOps says partners will gain:
- Tiered reseller levels with attractive partner margins
- Referral fees for non-reseller partners
- Online deal registration to protect qualified accounts
- Online sales and service training
- 24×7 partner portal access to sales resources and expedited technical support
- Evaluation product
- Means to create professional services opportunities
- Support from AccelOps’ dedicated sales representatives
On a related note, AccelOps has launched co-branded managed services, allowing partners to offer security and infrastructure monitoring as a managed service.
