SonicWall’s new products for distributed organizations include new SD-branch capabilities and a new line of multigigabit switches.

The SD-branch functionality enhances the vendor’s existing SD-WAN products. And SonicWall’s new line of switches offers seven models to address a broad range of uses.

“Business success often coincides with expansion, leading to an increased need for visibility, security and bandwidth across a distributed organization, said Bill Conner, president and CEO at SonicWall. “As the world begins to reopen its doors, organizations must rearchitect for the “new business normal,” which includes implementing cost-effective, software-defined networking and security principles across the business.”

The latest offerings from SonicWall address secure networking at the edge, branch capabilities and simplified management for distributed businesses.

SonicWall SD-Branch combines secure SD-WAN, SD-LAN and security. It also features zero-touch deployment, which delivers unified visibility and threat detection across LAN, WAN and security controls.

A subscription license model is available for the new offer.

SonicWall New Products: Switches

The new Sonic Switch Series offers multigigabit wired performance. The seven models range from eight to 48 ports, with gigabit and 10 gigabit Ethernet ports. The new switches work with SonicWall next-generation firewalls and wireless access points.

You can use the switches individually or in multiples. Also, you can daisy-chain them to form a single switch with the port capacity of the combined switches. And you can use the gigabit Ethernet ports to power wireless access points, VoIP phones and IP cameras.

The switches and next-gen firewalls can be managed with the SonicWall Capture Security Center, a cloud-based management console.

“With companies forever changing how the operate with remote employees and offices, it’s more important than ever to ensure the maximum performance of applications, traffic and workflows,” said Conner. “These additions will allow IT departments to focus on other issues at hand, reduce budget constraints and finally address the shortage of critical cybersecurity skills.”
