Cowbell Cyber, the AI-powered cyber insurance provider for SMBs, has introduces Cowbell Connect, its new partner program.

Cowbell Connect partners range from data aggregators, cybersecurity vendors and service providers, to digital aggregators and risk mitigation services. It reinforces Cowbell Cyber’s closed-loop approach to cyber risk management. It bundles cyber coverage with risk assessment, quantification and mitigation, as well as pre-and post-breach services.

Isabelle Dumont is Cowbell Cyber’s vice president of market engagement.

“We have worked with partners from day one,” she said. “The launch of Cowbell Connect, our partner program, organizes our broad set of partners in categories and activities that relate directly to the value they each bring to Cowbell Prime, our cyber insurance program, to our distribution network and most importantly, to our customers, the policyholders.”

Different Partners, Different Tasks

Managing the cyber risk life cycle requires a multitude of solutions, services and expertise in cybersecurity, insurance and incident response.

Cowbell Connect clarifies which partners are involved at each step of a cyber risk management initiative, Dumont said.

“We refer to this approach as closed-loop cyber risk management,” she said. “This includes pre- and post-breach services, such as security training for employees, insights and recommendations to address security weaknesses, all with the goal to help policyholders improve their cyber risk profile.”

MSPs handle security for many businesses in the form of consulting services, managed services or outsourcing, the company said. Training providers bring ongoing security awareness training to employees of the insured. They build the first line of defense against phishing email and ransomware attacks.

Both partners and customers provided significant input into the design of Cowbell Connect, Dumont said.

“The surge of cybercrime and ransomware attacks in 2020 has put a lot of pressure on SMBs,” she said. “They want to understand how they can best protect their business and are turning to their IT and insurance providers for advice, education and expertise. This is why we highlighted incident response and the value of a breach coach as part of an incident response team.”

Perfect Timing

Cowbell Cyber launched its cyber insurance programs at the perfect time, Dumont said.

“Insurance agencies needed to move their operations online and businesses demanded relevant, personalized cyber policies with clarity of coverage,” she said. “It was also time to use the billions of security data points available from security tools to give businesses a better understanding of their cyber risk.”

Cowbell Cyber’s AI-powered platform and insurance programs deliver customized cyber policies in minutes, Dumont said.

Karen Kukoda is SafeGuard Cyber‘s vice president of strategic partnerships.

“Our partnership is a great example of preventative security technology augmenting cyber insurance  to deliver superior protection,” she said.

So to the question, “More Cowbell?” the answer from the channel is a resounding “yes.”
