Sophos Announces Partnership With Scientific Software & Systems

IT security and data protection company Sophos has forged a deal with New Zealand-based IT solutions provider Scientific Software & Systems (SSS) that would offer customers mobile device management (MDM) in the cloud through Sophos’ Mobile Control product. Through this partnership IT administrators are provided with the ability to secure, monitor and control the configuration of mobile devices connecting to the corporate network.

To provide direct support to its customers, SSS will deploy and manage the Mobile Control solution across New Zealand. "This solution allows us to provide superior mobile device management – it allows us to integrate an excellent product with our detailed knowledge of customer requirements and challenges," says Ashton Jones, product manager of SSS, "Both these factors mean we’re able to tailor the solution to best meet these needs." The partnership, according to Jones, will meet a growing need in the industry for a more comprehensive mobile security offering.

SSS has already registered a range of customers in both the private and government sectors. Through the trial phase, the company has received feedback and customer interest, which assisted with the developing partnership with Sophos.

More than 100 million users in 150 countries rely on Sophos for protection against threats and data loss. Last month, the company released two apps—Sophos Mobile Security and Sophos Mobile Encryption—to extend protection for Android devices. To learn more about Sophos, visit the company's website.
