Paessler AG, the network monitoring software provider, has added a new company executive in order to strengthen the software company’s North American presence — its largest business market to date.

So Markus Brinsa [pictured] has joined Paessler as the company’s new Executive Vice President of North America. Brinsa, who has led IT international sales teams, strategic consulting plans and business alliance building efforts for various technology providers for over two decades, will focus on helping Paessler find more channel partners throughout the United States. The move is part of the company’s effort to further solidify its hold on its strongest market.

In a prepared statement, Brinsa said that the latest version of Paessler’s PRTG monitoring software is the most robust networking monitoring solution in the industry, mainly because of its support for all common mobile operating systems such as Google’s Android and Apple’s iOS (for iPhone and iPad). Overall, Paessler grew its worlwide workforce by 43 percent in 2011 compared to 2010.

But Brinsa also said that Paessler “cannot afford to rest on [its] laurels.” That may be an understatement considering the competition in the network monitoring software space these days. ManageEngine has recently added Amazon S3 support to MSPcenter Plus, along with a whole host of other upgrades to its monitoring software service. BMC Software has recently purchased Numara Software in an effort to bolster is network monitoring performance suite. Zyrion recently added an analytics module to its networking monitoring platform. The list goes on and on. So in order to keep Paessler’s sales figures heading north, Brinsa said he will focus on building new relationships in North America with all different sizes of companies, from SMBs to enterprise corporations.

It’s quite obvious that Paessler is dedicated to serving its North American business customers. Less than a year ago the monitoring software provider hired Bill Brown as its North American Channel Chief in order to focus on support for Android mobile devices. Time will tell whether this strategy will keep Paessler toward the top of the ladder. But there’s one thing we do know for sure: the network monitoring market is one of the most competitive
