LogMeIn Pro Adds HD Video Streaming for Remote Collaboration

LogMeIn has released a new version of its LogMeIn Pro solution for virtual collaboration. The newest feature? Users now have access to new HD streaming capabilities for video, audio and other multimedia applications that they can connect to from their Macs, iPads and iPhones.

This is the second major development we’ve heard from LogMeIn since the company acquired Bold Software at the beginning of 2012. Since then, LogMeIn has added free VoIP and virtual collaboration capabilities to its solution. But this new HD solution could be its most significant move to date in 2012. LogMeIn customers using Macs can stream HD content from “virtually anywhere in the world,” according to LogMeIn VP of Products Matt Kaplan.

The news is a major development for LogMeIn’s roughly 14 million users worldwide. Not only can they use their iPhones and iPads to access Mac desktops from anywhere in the world. Now, they can access their Mac desktops remotely and still receive HD quality.

Keep in mind — the new HD capabilities are not available if you are using the LogMeIn Free service. The new addition is only available for LogMeIn Pro users, who can also transfer, manage and integrate their HD audio and/or video files into their cloud services. LogMeIn Pro licenses start at $39.99 per year.
