Logicalis announced the launch of a managed unified communications and video collaboration service, aimed at providing reliable conferencing for enterprises.

Logicalis announced today the launch of a managed unified communications and video collaboration service, aimed at providing reliable conferencing for enterprises.

The international solutions and managed services provider said the new offering includes monitoring, management and maintenance, to ensure optimal performance and free in-house IT resources for more strategic tasks.

“As businesses begin to rely more heavily on video for competitive advantage, this kind of collaboration quickly becomes a critical resource for them,” said David Leech, vice president of Cloud and Managed Services for Logicalis US. 

“Most IT pros can imagine themselves as the person held responsible for the CEO’s companywide videoconference that failed – a position they’d like to avoid,” he said. “With Logicalis’ new Managed Video Collaboration service, we can monitor, troubleshoot and maintain the video collaboration environment on our clients’ behalf.”

Included in the subscription is a Service Desk Unified Communications/Videoconference Event Support component, staffed to handle booking of devices and resources for special events, reserving bandwith, capturing data and assisting users who have trouble joining sessions.

Combined, the offering provides:

  • configuration and monitoring of hardware and endpoint devices;

  • monitoring of overall system health and alerting;

  • capturing and reporting of historical data to show how the system is being used and identify quality-of-service issues, like potential bottlenecks;

  • and security management for external conferencing, to include monitoring of the firewall to guard against unauthorized communication attempts.  

“Our reporting allows us to see all the way down to the solution’s end points, so if there is an issue – whether it’s a resource issue on the network or a quality-of-service issue – we can address it proactively before it causes a problem,” Leech said. “And because we have considerable experience in this area, we can also assist with moves, adds or changes of even the most complicated video collaboration equipment.”
