HPE Renews Cloud Promises with Both New and Updated Technologies
HPE Discover 2016 takes place this week in Las Vegas.

HP Enterprise has been trying to find its identity for the past couple years.

I’ve been following and covering HP long before the split into the different entities we see today, but was onsite during HP Discover 2015 and now at the 2016 edition.

During the 2015 event, many of the announcements were submitted as promises of what an enterprise-focused HP would try to deliver in lieu of the company split. For the 2015 event, the split was fresh, giving the newly formed HPE free reign to work to deliver on those promises.

Now, a year later, the company’s big announcement event, HPE Discover 2016, attempts to qualify an entity that is able to deliver for enterprises in key areas. And, as you can guess, it’s all about the cloud. HPE’s big task now is to show customers why they should choose the HPE version.

Announced during the general session on Tuesday, HPE is prepared to deliver the Hybrid Cloud to customers through the following new and refreshed technologies:

HPE Helion Cloud Suite – This new software suite will enable customers to deliver and manage their applications whether traditional, virtualized, cloud native or container-based.

HPE Helion CloudSystem 10 – CloudSystem is a solution that combines both hardware and software to help customers rapidly build and deploy enterprise-grade clouds. Included in the solution, HPE OneView 3.0 delivers automated, baremetal cloud provisioning.

HPE Helion Stackato 4.0 – Based on Cloud Foundry, Stackato provides a complete and open application development platform.

HPE Cloudline 3100 Server – Catering to the cloud service provided, the Cloudline 3100 server meets dense storage requirements for Hadoop/Cassandra/compute workloads.

HPE Technology Services – HPE Technology Services is prepared to help customers port workloads to the cloud, modernize their architecture and platforms during cloud migrations, provide development services to help customers build cloud-native applications and databases and assist in cloud brokering.

HPE Helion Cloud Suite, HPE Helion CloudSystem 10, HPE Helion Stackato 4.0 and HPE Helion Cloudline 3100 are all targeted to be available in the second half of 2016.
