Geek Squad Adds PhonePower and VOIP.com to Partner Program

Best Buy (NYSE: BBY) has been making headlines at MSPmentor and elsewhere recently. The company’s founder and former CEO Richard Schulze sent letters to the company’s board of directors early this month and then again late last week expressing his desire to acquire Best Buy and take the company private. Yesterday, the company announced that the board appointed Hubert Joly as president and CEO. Today, Geek Squad — Best Buy’s 24-hour tech support task force — added PhonePower and VOIP.com to its Partner Program network.

Geek Squad’s Partner Program, which works with third-party sellers to provide services for their own customers, has grown since its launch earlier this year, according to the company. VOIP.com and Phone Power will benefit from Geek Squad services including Geek Squad Office Support, which makes Geek Squad Agents available for unlimited 24/7 support via phone, online chat, remote, and optional on-site support. The company’s services plans seek to assist customers with diagnostics and repair, client and server administration, and network integration.

Geek Squad has grown to approximately 20,000 technicians. These technicians provide services including computing, home theater, auto electronics, mobile devices and appliances. To find out more about Geek Squad’s partner program, please visit the company’s website.
