ERDF Adopts Telelogos Mobile Device Management Solution
ERDF, or Electricity Distribution Network France, a public distributor of electricity in the France, has adopted Telelogos' mobile device management (MDM) solution MediaContact to help the company's 36,000 employees perform daily the operations of the organization securely with their mobile devices.
ERDF's Information Systems Division (ISD) recently built a service offering called Integrated Infrastructure Mobility Management to supply, operate, and manage fleets of mobile devices. To further develop its service offering, tin March 2011, the ISD called for "tender," government procurement in the European Union. One part of the tender included the provisioning of software for mobile device management and the related services for its implementation.
Telelogos' MDM solution MediaContact was chosen and the integrator IER was selected to ensure smooth implementation. Electricity Distribution Network France deployed MediaContact during Q4 of 2011, and by May 2012, the entire production infrastructure became operational and supported 4,000 terminals. According to EDF, the built-in characteristics of MediaContact associated with functional coverage and its usability were the deciding factors.
ERDF operates the public distribution of electricity on the French territory and provides services to more than 34 million customers.
