… 2% of desktop operating systems deployed in North America as of July, and just more than one-half of one percent worldwide, according to Statcounter. Chromebooks have become very popular in the K-12 education market but have made little traction among enterprise customers.

XenTegra’s Pete Downing
Pete Downing, chief marketing and technology officer at XenTegra, said he likes Chromebooks but has only seen interest from K-12 schools.
“I’ll go into it on education all day long and kill it,” Downing said. “But as soon as I go in the enterprise, it starts falling down because they can’t address the enterprise needs.”
Google believes Chrome OS enterprise addresses many of those needs, such as managed extensions, printer management, Active Directory integration, single sign-on, group policy management, managed OS updates and around-the-clock support. Google Cloud also offers an administrative console for Chrome OS Enterprise.
The new Latitudes are available with either 13- or 14-inch displays, a variety of Intel Core 8th Generation i5 and i7 processors and storage options. The systems are available with 10 different local language keyboards and in 50 countries.
