Citrix (CTXS) recently announced the release of XenMobile 10, its latest enterprise mobility management solution. XenMobile 10 offers a simpler architecture and a unified infrastructure to allow for faster setup and deployment times for their mobile devices, according to the company.
XenMobile 10 features several design enhancements for streamlined workflows, available though the XenMobile suite of integrated productivity apps. The result is a unified EMM platform to simplify the management and deployment of mobile apps, data and devices so that users can securely expand their mobile workforce, according to Citrix.
The new release includes design enhancements that are expected to allow users to create workflows by utilizing the XenMobile suite of integrated apps, including WorxMail, WorxWeb, WorxNotes and ShareFile, among others.
Straight from the press release, some of the new features include:
- Integration between WorxNotes and Microsoft Exchange to enables syncing of Outlook Notes on desktops with WorxNotes on mobile devices.
- WorxNotes and ShareFile integration creates a workflow for secure document capture and storage. The WorxNotes application allows users to create notes from text, audio and images or videos captured by the device camera.
Mobile users will have access to a new self-service portal to track, lock and wipe lost or stolen devices without consulting IT. Citrix said the solution will also support stronger authentication for applications using RSA Adaptive Authentication to strengthen the encryption between device to network and network to server connections for end-to-end protection.
XenMobile 10 promises to simplify IT administration tasks as well by placing all of the mobile device management and mobile application management infrastructure behind a single pane of glass. This means that enterprises can set one policy and apply across platforms including iOS, Android and Windows Phone, according to ZDNet.
XenMobile 10 is available now, with the server enhancements expected to be rolled out to customers in the first quarter of 2015.
The announcement comes on the heels of Citrix’s acquisition of virtualization provider Sanbolic earlier this month as the company looks to build out its portfolio of mobile workspace solutions. Citrix said it believes the acquisition will also allow the company to reduce the complexity of Windows application delivery and VDI deployments in future releases.
