Mergers and Acquisitions

ServiceNow is acquiring the in-app mobile analytics platform and R&D talent of Appsee, an Israel-based application analytics platform company.

The deal is expected to further allow ServiceNow to deliver out-of-the-box, consumer-grade mobile experiences at scale to enterprises. Financial details of the acquisition weren’t disclosed. It is expected to close by the end of the current quarter.

Boaz Hecht, ServiceNow’s senior director of platform product management, tells Channel Partners the acquisition will create new opportunities for ServiceNow and its customers. Appsee will provide ServiceNow and its customers with insights into user behaviors when interacting with the Now Platform.

“As an example, with Appsee, we’ll be able to see how end-users are engaging with our apps — including clicks, swipes and pinches,” he said. “This level of detail will allow us to better improve our user interface (UI) for customers.”

ServiceNow won’t be selling Appsee’s product as a standalone, but will integrate it into its platform, and partners will leverage that technology once integration is complete.

With Appsee, customers will receive an end-to-end view of mobile app user behavior and see the specific mobile and web actions in the underlying UI to generate insights, Hecht said.

ServiceNow will not acquire any of Appsee’s partners or customers, he said.

“ServiceNow is committed to driving digital transformation,” Hecht said. “With Appsee, ServiceNow will be able to further its mobile and web browser strategy, and our customers will be able to benefit from deep user analytics.

When the deal closes, Appsee’s intellectual property, its co-founders and R&D employees will join ServiceNow.

“ServiceNow is serving almost 75% of the Fortune 500 and there is an enormous opportunity for Appsee to help ServiceNow customers create mobile capabilities at enterprise scale that simplify how people work,” said Zahi Boussiba, Appsee’s CEO and co-founder. “By joining the ServiceNow team, we’re excited to help bring our expertise to companies that are digitally transforming their businesses.”

Last week, ServiceNow unveiled changes to its global partner ecosystem strategy, including new programs for its global partner community. The announcement was made during its Knowledge 2019 annual user conference.
